Roundhouse Studiosisn’t an Xbox development team that many fans will be familiar with. The studio was formed as a part of Bethesda in 2019 and became a part ofXboxwhen Microsoft acquired ZeniMax Media. However, it has a long and very familiar history prior to that. As of right now, however, Roundhouse is reportedly very busy. Early details indicate that not only is Roundhouse helping developRedfallwith Arkane Austin, but it’s also working on an unannounced Xbox game itself.

The information comes from the LinkedIn profile of Roundhouse Studios game designer Brad Fawaz. Fawaz lists under his past work experience starting at Roundhouse when the studio formed in 2019. Two projects are listed under this Roundhouse experience. The first isRedfalland the second is a simply a black title card with the word “Unannounced” on it. It’s not much to go on, but it’s intriguing nonetheless.

Fawaz didn’t join the Roundhouse development team as it was formed in 2019, it should be noted. He was a part of the studio prior to that when it was known as Human Head Studios. For those unfamiliar, Human Head Studios closed itself in 2019 and converted what’s believed to be its entire staff into Roundhouse as a Bethesda subsidiary. Fawaz' experience at Human Head involved work on theopen-worldRune 2as well as other design work on several unannounced projects.

Human Head is known for many other projects other thanRune 2, however. The Quiet Manwas released in 2018, its most notable modern release. The project it’s best known for is the 2006 gamePrey, as well as the controversy surrounding its canceledPrey 2work. The modern Roundhouse is unlikely to be much like the past Human Head, however. Still, the legacy of Roundhouse’s work deserves to be acknowledged.

As for what kind of game Roundhouse could be working on, it’s anyone’s guess. The studio’s work onRedfallcould imply that it’s planning on carrying over the first-person gameplay to its new project. Alternatively, it could be following up onRune 2with a different kind of open-world action game. Some fans may even be hoping Roundhouse will berevisiting thePreyfranchise.

In the end, Roundhouse’s upcoming unannounced project remains unknown for the time being. It could be as simple asRoundhousesupporting another Bethesda studio’s project, rather than its own game. Xbox fans will learn what the game is in time, with many curious to see what’s next forRoundhouse Studios.
