Summary

World of Warcraftrecently hotfixed theHearthstonecrossover event so Whizbang spawns the boss NPCs in Stormwind, Orgrimmar, and Valdrakken simultaneously every hour. This should make farming theWorld of Warcraftevent much easier than it was on the first day.

Hearthstoneis celebrating its 10-year anniversarywith a collaboration event inWorld of Warcraft. From now through March 18, players can challenge others in aHearthstone-inspired minigame while they wait for the gnomish toymaker, Whizbang, to summon bosses inspired by iconicHearthstonecards for an hourly chance to earn exclusive cosmetics and collectibles.

Now,World of Warcrafthas applied a hotfix that should make farming Whizbang’s bosses a lot easier. Previously, Whizbang would appear in one of three locations: outside Orgrimmar near the zeppelin, by the Stormwind docks, or on a tower near the Seat of the Aspects in Valdrakken, cycling between the three every hour. According to aforum post byWoWcommunity manager Kaivax, Whizbang will now appear at all three of these locations simultaneously every hour, rather than just one of them.

WoW Hearthstone Event Bosses Spawn in All Locations Every Hour

While this change may seem small, it should have a huge impact. Previously, fans had no reliable way of knowing where Whizbang would appear beyond other players, and they had to travel to the opposite factions’ capital or log on to an alt to participate in some instances. Additionally, converging every character into a single location caused immense lag, leading theWorld of Warcraftevent to cause server crashes, resets, and fans not getting credit for the kill. Spreading players across all three locations will hopefully alleviate this problem.

That said, players still aren’t happy with theHearthstonecrossover. The event itself copies many of the least-popular parts ofWorld of Warcraft’s Greedy Emissary collaboration forDiablo 4. With little besides a repetitive hourly boss fight and a confusing minigame with no directions on how to play, many fans have been left disappointed by theHearthstonecrossover event.

Though the crossover itself may be uninspired, therewardsWorld of Warcraftplayers can get forHearthstone’s anniversaryare far from it. Lucky fans can get a disc mount, two unique toys, a Sarge pet, stylish transmog items, or even a 36-slot bag from Whizbang’s card bosses. Players who log intoHearthstoneonce before May 14 get the guaranteed Fiery Hearthsteed mount, so fans should make sure to do so, even if they don’t normally play the digital card game.
