While the original is a fiery dragon inspired by the former Aspect of the Black Dragonflight, Deathwing, the Azure Worldchiller is a recolor of the iconic mount that transforms his flames into frost. Like the mounts frompreviousWorld of Warcraftanniversary events, the Azure Worldchiller will drop from the Doomwalker, a special fel reaver world boss in Tanaris, from November 16 through December 7.
Little is known about the specifics of this impending event so far, but if it follows precedent from prior years, players can expect the chance to earn Timewarped Badges which they can spend at special event vendors or save for Timewalking events. Previously,World of Warcraftgave the Illidari Doomhawk mounta 100% drop chance, so if players are lucky, they may have the same guaranteed chance to get the Azure Worldchiller.
Needless to say, players are excited to get the Azure Worldchiller. The Obsidian Worldbreaker is one of the coolest and most popular dragon mounts in the game, but its red color scheme doesn’t always match thetransmogs of everyWorld of Warcraftcharacter. Having the chance to get this awesome variant is an excellent opportunity for veteran mount collectors and those who missed out on the Obsidian Worldbreaker during the 15th anniversary event.
Though the Azure Worldchiller mount is not flagged for Dragonriding yet,World of Warcraftconfirmed it is bringing the popular flying mechanicto the rest of the world. Hundreds of other mounts have received animations for dynamic flight, including the Obsidian Worldbreaker, so players can safely assume the Azure Worldchiller will be able to as well.World of Warcrafthasn’t said when Dragonriding would be fully implemented across Azeroth, but it is planned to be finished before the end ofDragonflight–possibly even in Patch 10.2 later this year.
