Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreehas been received incredibly well by fans all over the world. The vast library of new content that opens up to the player with this DLC makes the price point well-worth it, unlike the majority of DLCs coming out these days. In fact, it almost feels like a sequel.
With the new DLC comesnew sets of armor and weapons. The Messmer Soldier set includes not just four armor pieces, but also a spear and an axe. It’s not the most exciting collection of equipment, but they’re solid choices for the early parts of the DLC, and give the player a taste of what’s to come. Here’s everything that players need to know about finding and using these items inShadow of the Erdtree.

Messmer Soldier Armor Set Overview: Pieces & Stats
InElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, the Messmer Soldier Armor set is made up of four pieces: the Messmer Soldier’s Armor, Messmer Soldier’s Gauntlets, Messmer Soldier’s Greaves, and Messmer Soldier’s Helm. When all four pieces are equipped, the Messmer Soldier set’s weight is 21.6.
The Messmer Soldier Armor set hasa very ordinary appearance, looking like typical adventuring gear, or something that a normal soldier would wear. Its stats aren’t amazing, but they aren’t bad either. It’s fairly mundane armor, though it has a timeless Anglo-saxon look that’s hard to hate.

Where To Find the Messmer Soldier’s Full Set
To get the Messmer Soldier’s Full Set inShadow of the Erdtree, you mustfarm the Messmer soldiers scattered around the map. They’re the ones that show up in the various encampments in the DLC. All of these soldiers have a chance to drop their armor pieces, and can also drop whichever weapon they’re using.
One good location to farm these soldiers is theCastle Ensis Checkpoint site of grace.Once you’ve opened the castle gates by following the path to its right, go straight in and kill the enemies in the left room. One of these two is a spear user and might drop the weapon. Then, go straight and get rid of the four enemies that show up. Three of them are axe users and have a chance to drop that weapon, while the other one uses the spear.
Use an Arcane build with theSilver Beetle talismanequipped to maximize item discovery, and give yourself better chances of enemies dropping the items.
If players only need the spear to complete their set, travel to theCastle Front site of grace. From there, turn back and farm the enemies in the encampments surround you, or the ones standing on the bridge. Just because they’re normal enemies, you shouldn’t underestimate them. They pack a mean punch and can kill the player in the blink of an eye.
