Summary

Warrior players inWorld of Warcraft Remix: Mists of Pandariacan use Strom’kar, one of the artifact weapons fromLegion, to permanently fear troll enemies and bosses in the expansion. With Zandalari Trolls featured as prominent enemies in the expansion, a Warrior wielding thisWorld of Warcraftweapon can give their party a huge edge in certainMists of Pandariaencounters.

Strom’kar, the Warbreaker, theWorld of Warcraft: Legionartifact weaponfor Arms Warriors, has a secret effect. Called “Surrounded by Trolls!,” the wielder of the blade gets a special aura that can cause Troll enemies to run in fear when they approach. InLegion, this didn’t come up very often, as there were not many major Troll enemies during the expansion.

However, now thatWorld of Warcraft Remix: Mists of Pandariais out, Strom’kar has become a powerful tool because of this secret ability. Zandalari Trolls play a large role in the expansion’s story, especially on the Isle of Thunder. Arms and Fury Warriors who wield Strom’kar – or simply transmog it over their existing two-handed weapons – can render these powerful enemies helpless simply by moving near them.Wowhead even confirmed this aura affects the Troll bosses of the Council of Elders, trivializing the freneticWorld of Warcraftraid encounter.

Strom’Kar, WoW: Legion’s Arms Warrior Artifact Weapon

InWorld of Warcraft’s lore, Strom’kar was the blade wielded by King Thoradin, the barbarian warlord who united the first Human empire. The sword was instrumental in ending the Troll Wars, with Thoradin using it to kill many Trolls during the conflict. Given its historical significance, it is no surprise that the mere sight of the blade can cause Trolls to flee in fear – even if aWorld of WarcraftWarrior is only using it as a transmog.

Many of the artifact weapons fromWorld of Warcraft: Legionhave secret interactions. G’Hanir has a chance to sprout flowers when the Druid who wields it casts helpful spells, Thas’dorah sometimes spawns a gust of wind that speeds up the Hunter and their allies, and several weapons – including the blade that once housed Xal’atath, the Harbinger ofWorld of Warcraft– sometimes speak to the player directly. However, this helpful function of Strom’kar has been the most dramatic so far.

Needless to say,World of Warcraftfans got a kick out of this interaction. While it was likely not intended to work on raid bosses, they were delighted to find that it did. That said, Blizzard hasfixed other unintendedWoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria Remixtricks like frog farmingquickly, so players shouldn’t be surprised if it does the same with Strom’kar soon.
