Over the past couple of years,NICKMERCS has been a top streamer on Twitch. Known for his prowess in first-person shooters, Nick became famous playing titles, such asFortniteandCall of Duty: Warzone. However, he has seen his average number of viewers drop off in recent months. This has caused some to say that he is in decline.

In a recent YouTube video from December 2, NICKMERCS discussed his decrease in viewership and the claims that he “fell off.” He spoke candidly about the issue, admitting that his number of views had declined. Nevertheless, he maintained he was “still crushing it comparatively.” While he acknowledged that viewership numbers were a helpful metric, he thought people put too much weight on those statistics. Furthermore, he said that it mattered more to him to enjoy what he streamed than to broadcast what might get him more views onTwitchand YouTube.
In addition to addressing the issue, NICKMERCS gave his fans several reasons for the decrease in average viewers. He claimed that numerous factors impact viewership that remain outside of his control. According to the streamer, the pandemic contributed to his previous success. He believed that the reason he had around 80,000 viewers in pastWarzonestreams was due to people being unable to work or travel. In addition, he acknowledged thatApex Legendsjust wasn’t as popular as games likeCall of Duty: Warzone. “Not to say thatApexis a small game or small fanbase, because it’s not. It’s just not as big asCall of Duty,” he said
He concluded by giving his fans a roadmap of what was come. According to the streamer, his sights were squarely set on continuing toimprove inApex Legends. He believed that he had yet to reach his full potential in the game and even claimed that tournament titles could be in the future.
