Some new information aboutTransformers: Reactivatehas been leaked, revealing previously unknown details about playable characters. The leaks come in the form of screenshots from an early build ofTransformers: Reactivate.Transformers: Reactivateis a newTransformersgame coming from developer Splash Damage. It was initially revealed with atrailer at The Game Awards 2022and is an online co-op action game for up to four players. Players will apparently be fighting against an alien occupation of Earth and attempting to liberate the planet. The leaked screenshots are from an early build ofTransformers: Reactivate, dating back to 2018. The first screenshot shows a gallery lineup of different characters from both the Autobots and Decepticons, including famous characters like Starscream, Ironhide, Soundwave, and Hot Rod. The three other screenshots are blurry gameplay footage showing various Transformers in-game or their icons on the screen. Based on all of these screenshots, it seems that playable characters could include Bumblebee, Hot Rod, Ironhide, Windblade, Sunstreaker, Ratchet, Shockwave, Starscream, Soundwave, and Slipstream. So far the cast seems to be stacked infavor ofTransformers' Autobots, but there’s a good chance that more Decepticons just weren’t leaked.
These leaked screenshots provide some pretty significant information about the upcomingTransformersgame. However, it’s important to keep in mind that these screenshots are from a 2018 build, so the game has more likely than not undergone a significant amount of changes since then. That doesn’t mean, of course, that these characters aren’t still in the game, but some of them could be added as DLC later, or potentially have been changed in one way or another from the forms shown in these screenshots. With the reveal at The Game Awards 2022, though, these leaks are already more solid and reliable than similarleaks about aTransformersMMO.
Regardless of which Autobots or Decepticons are featured inTransformers: Reactivate, fans have hope that Splash Damage will do theTransformersfranchise justice. With work on games likeGears Tactics,Gears 5, andBatman: Arkham Originson its resume, the studio has some good credentials. And fans could potentially see that for themselves with a 2023 beta test. Overall, next year is looking to be a good year forTransformersfans, especially sinceTransformers: Rise of the Beastswas announcedfor a theatrical release in June 2023.
