The news of the day, however, involves Ciri, Geralt’s surrogate daughter, in an all new 12-inch figurine that depicts the young Witcher as a Japanese Monster Slayer. The figure itself displays Ciri in a kimono with a katana resting on her shoulder and the head of a Yokai, a Japanese demon, in her hand, not unlike the trophies earned inThe Witcher 3. At her side is a small fox-like creature with multiple tails, that some might recognize as a Kitsune, another spirit from Japanese lore. This figurine is named “Ciri and the Kitsune” and is a limited edition piece, each order being sculpted and painted by hand, including slight variations according to the product description due to the personal touch put into making the item.

The area around the base of the figure appears to depict a fierce battle that took place between Ciri and the Yokai who’s head now hangs in the woman’s hand. All of this design work was accomplished by a team of artists, including CD Projekt Red’s art director Paweł Mielniczuk. Whether or not this Monster Slayer Ciri is expected to be a feature infutureWitchergamesis yet to be seen, but considering the craftsmanship of the model, it would be a welcome sight in-game.
With CD Projekt Red’s current major project,Cyberpunk 2077, wrapping up and releasing soon, fans have been wondering what the company will be working on next. Considering how well theWitchergame trilogy has done for the company, it wouldn’t be surprising if the next step forward was to work on a newWitchergame, possibly even following Ciri after the events ofThe Witcher 3. Combine that with the fact that the author of theoriginalWitcherbooks, Andrzej Sapkowski has extended his partnership with CD Projekt Red, and it looks very likely that aWitcher 4may likely be on the way, possibly for Next-Gen consoles.
