Most recently, a very detailedleak aboutThe Elder Scrolls 6: Redfallsurfaced online. According to the leak, the game will be taking place six years after the events ofSkyrimand will feature “huge, epic battle scenes with dozens, if not hundreds of characters battling on-screen in real-time.” There were even talks of vehicle mechanics that will be carried over from Bethesda’s other project calledStarfield. However, what made this rumor so convincing is that the leaker posted an NDA agreement that Bethesda made them sign. In the end, everything revealed by the user including the alleged NDA turned out to be fake.

Of course, this leak was only one of the many rumors that have surfaced online ever sinceBethesda unveiled thatThe Elder Scrolls 6is in development. However, it wouldn’t be unlikely that every single rumor aboutThe Elder Scrolls 6: Redfallthat has been released or will be released at this point in development will most likely be fake, and here are the reasons why.
The Elder Scrolls 6: Redfall Title Remains Unofficial
First, the nameRedfallas the official subtitle ofThe Elder Scrolls 6remains to be unconfirmed. The only reason why many believe thatRedfallis the official title of the game was due to a trademark dispute a year ago between Bethesda’s parent company ZeniMax Media, and sci-fi author Jay Falconer who wrote a thriller book that is also calledRedfall. For a time during the dispute between both parties, many believed that ZeniMax didn’t want to let go of theRedfalltrademark because it is the name that Bethesda wanted to use as the official title ofThe Elder Scrolls 6.However, in May of last year, it has been announced thatZeniMax and the author reached a settlement, but the terms of it remain confidential.
It is unclear whether ZeniMax agreed not to useRedfallas the game’s official title or whether the company would just have to pay Falconer for the use of the word in the upcoming game. Given this, the titleThe Elder Scrolls 6: Redfallremains unconfirmed, and there is a strong possibility that it won’t even be the official title of the upcoming game. The Elder Scrolls 6 Is Still in Its Early Stages of Development

For quite some time now, Bethesda has been saying that the game is still its early stages in development, and given that the studio hasn’t shown any gameplay footage or an in-depth trailer means that it may not even have anything to show just yet.
Prior to the confirmation ofThe Elder Scrolls 6back in E3 2018, Bethesda revealed in 2017 thatdevelopment forThe Elder Scrolls 6still hasn’t begun. Assuming that the studio has been continuously working on the game since then, three years of development is still early for a triple-A game, not to mention, for anElder Scrollsgame. It is important for fans to remember thatThe Elder Scrolls 6is expected to be much bigger thanSkyrimand will most likely be an extremely vast open-world game that will break records and expectations.
