Last week,Super Mario 3D All-Starsreleased on the Nintendo Switch, and fans have been loving the opportunity to relive their nostalgia through one bundle. The collection ofSuper Mario 64,Super Mario Sunshine, andSuper Mario Galaxyhas been a smash hit withSuper Mario 3D All-Starsselling out almost instantlyon Amazon after it was announced. However, some players have discovered an odd typo fromSuper Mario 64is still present in3D All-Stars, causing fans to wonder how it didn’t get fixed.

InSuper Mario 64, players can eventually make their way to the top of Peach’s castle and meet up with everyone’s favorite dino pal, Yoshi. When greeted, Yoshi exclaims, " Mario!!! It that really you??? It has been so long since our last adventure!" While it’s odd enough as it is that Yoshi, the normally mute companion, is talking, it’s odder still that Nintendo left an obvious typo in the text. Instead of “It that really you???” it should read “Is that really you???”

What makes this typo even weirder is that Nintendo went through and fixed text throughout the rest ofSuper Mario 3D All-Stars. This typo is but one of many problems that players have pointed thatneed to be fixed in3D All-Stars, with some drawing attention toSuper Mario Sunshine’s poor camera controls.

While things like typos and camera controls are relatively minor in the grand schemes of life, they do feed into the biggercontroversy surroundingSuper Mario 3D All-Stars. Not only is the collection available for a limited amount of time, but the game sits at a full $60, which is a fairly hefty ask in comparison to other remaster trilogies like theCrash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogywhich was only $40. These issues have led some players to believe that Nintendo did little work on the collection and released it as a cash grab.

Things haven’t been helped by the fact that the games onSuper Mario 3D All-Starsmay be running on emulatorsas well. Only a couple days before the collection was set to release, it leaked online with players datamining it and discovering that the games inside were running off of emulators designed by Nintendo, making them not straight ports.

Despite all of this, in general, critics and players alike have been loving their time with the collection.Critic scores forSuper Mario 3D All-Starshave been around 8.5/10, with many saying that the game is wonderful for recapturing one’s inner child.
