The ship builder inStarfieldhas been insanely popular with the game’s audience, and one player in particular used it to recreate the iconic Wraith fromStarCraft. Frombuilding the Borg Cube inStarfieldto the Millennium Falcon and Star Destroyer, the community has been using the ship builder to design the space vessel of their dreams, and more often than not, it just so happens to be an accurate replica of their favorite starship from their favorite sci-fi franchise. This is far from an indictment on the creativity ofStarfieldplayers, but rather an appreciation ofStarfield’s ship customization that lets players express their fandom near-limitlessly.

WhileStar WarsandStar Trekare no doubt gigantic IPs with a lot of history and several decades of popularity behind them,StarCraft’s ship designs have left a big impression on the gaming community with its Battlecruisers, Carriers, as well as the infamous Void Rays familiar to anyStarCraft 2fan who played on the ladder. Though the ship size limit inStarfieldis better suited for frigates and corvettes at most, it has done little to stop players from working within the game’s limitations.

StarCraft’s Wraith thankfully is on the lower end of the size chart, and Mustafa312 managed to recreate the terran space fighter beautifully. The design was shared on the officialStarfieldsubreddit, where it saw plenty of praise, with many players stating that it’s one of the bestStarfieldship builds they’ve seen yet. From the overall shape, to the color scheme, and even the functional aspects of the build such as weaponry –Starfield’s ship buildergave Mustafa312 all the tools needed to adapt the Wraith’s design, and even add some personal flair while doing it.

With the looming possibility ofActivision Blizzard being acquired by Microsoft, bothStarfieldandStarCraftcould end up belonging to the same company, a fact that would have sounded obscene five years ago. The success ofStarfieldpaints a positive picture for sci-fi franchises overall, and withStar Wars Outlawson the way, it may be a good time for Microsoft to consider green-lighting a newStarCrafttitle. Whether as a real-time strategy game, or as a first-person shooter, many fans would agree that the Blizzard franchise still has a lot to offer.

AsStarfieldcontinues to set Bethesda records, its burgeoning modding community anxiously awaits the release of the Creation Kit. ThoughStarfieldalready has some amazing mods, the Creation Kit will give an array of ambitious tools to the hands of the modders. The ship builder may end up looking even more impressive a year down the line.
