The following contains potential spoilers for season 2 ofStar Wars: The Bad Batch.A new piece of promotional artwork forStar Wars: The Bad Batchmight have potentially jumped the gun in revealing a big plot moment from the upcoming 2nd season of the animated Disney Plus series. The new season, set to premiere in only a couple of months, has a lot of anticipation radiating in its general direction, but was this a little too much?

Season 1 ofThe Bad Batchsaw the titular team of “defective” clone troopers known as Clone Force 99 lose one of their own when their sniper, Crosshair, defected to the newly-formed Galactic Empire. This caused much of the conflict and drama in theStar Warsseries so far, particularly as the rest of the team removed the control chips that would have caused them to follow the Empire’s orders and turn against the Jedi. They assumed that chip was the reason Crosshair turned against them, but he eventually revealed that he’d had his removed and made the choice of his own free will.

So now, after season 1 ended with Crosshair still separate from the rest, it would be understandably confusing for many fans to see this new piece of artwork, courtesy ofDisplate. The piece depicts the main crew fromThe Bad Batchalong withtheir young clone sister Omega, who looks noticeably different and slightly older compared to when audiences last saw her in the first season finale. But aside from that, a notable addition is Crosshair himself standing on the left, alongside his former comrades.

Does this imply that Crosshair will join the team once again in season 2?TheBad Batchseason 1 finaledid seem to plant a seed of doubt in his mind as Omega tried to get through to him before he walked off alone, but it still seems like that would take a little while to actually happen in the upcoming season. Still, given Omega’s new appearance in the artwork, it looks like some pretty solid evidence in favor of that theory.

As the only known female clone of theMandalorian-armored bounty hunter Jango Fettamong her countless identical brothers, Omega felt as lost and disconnected as the rest of Clone Force 99 when she joined up with them. Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, and Echo slowly came to feel like the family she’d never had, and with the possible return of Crosshair to the fold in season 2, it looks like her family is about to feel even more whole. But it would have been nice to see it happen without a spoiler.

Naturally, this could all just be a misunderstanding. Maybe the artwork wasn’t fully examined by Disney or Lucasfilm before being released, or maybe Crosshair will join up right away and it won’t actually be a big deal. Either way, it’s at least nice to see some moreBad Batchcontent.

Star Wars: The Bad Batchwill return for season 2 on Disney Plus starting January 4th, 2023.
