While the links to the animatedRebelsandClone Warsshows have been evident from the get-go,Ahsokarecently shared something in common withThe Mandalorian, the live-action space western where Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka first made her appearance. In the jam-packed parade of great fan moments in the show’s six episodes, fans were treated to a look at an adorable race of alien creatures known as the Noti, a short bipedal race of creatures that look like a cross between a turtle and a crustacean. Fans have been raving about how cute the Noti are, drawingparallels toThe Mandalorian’s Grogu.
It was initially thought ahead of its release thatAhsokawould have its ownGrogu-like creaturein the animatronic Loth-Cat. However, fans seem to have taken to the Noti, who stand at around the size of Sabine Wren seated on the ground and seem timid, much more organically. Social media posts celebrated the creatures and their addition to the series in such a pivotal, emotional episode. The introduction was heightened by their proximity to Ezra Bridger, a character the show has been building up to, and fans were ecstatic to see him make his live-action debut after being found living with the Noti in uncharted territory.
Unlike Grogu, Noti likely won’t stick around much going forward, making their episode six appearance novel. While the rest of the episode is a more serious and satisfying extension of past events, the Noti reminds everyone there’s a lot toStar Warsthat exists beyond the Jedi and Sith conflictthat should be explored.Ahsoka, having lore inherited from the animated series, might not be able to do such an idea justice, but the effort to include these little things helps the show overall.
