Big changes are planned forTom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Ubisoft’s online tactical shooter has had a tumultuous post-launch since its release in late 2019. Ubisoft has describedGhost Recon Breakpoint’s sales as disappointing. But that doesn’t mean Ubisoft’s given up on the project. Not only willGhost Recon Breakpointget its anticipated “The Ghost Experience” update on March 24, but Ubisoft has just announced a newSplinter Cellcrossover update, too.

Also releasing on March 24 will be Deep State, a brand newGhost Recon Breakpointadventure. The teaser trailer for Deep State doesn’t reveal much, but it does confirm the return ofSplinter Cellprotagonist Sam Fisher. “Husky, this is Deep Blue,” says Fisher, who receives the response, “Copy, Deep Blue. It’s been a while.” The implication being that Fisher will likely guide an adventure for the player’s character.

Fisher mentions Auroa, as well as Terminators. That implies that Deep State will be revisiting some earlierBreakpointstorylines. Fisher may simply be referencing previous events, however. There may be moreTerminator-related crossovercontent coming. Nevertheless, Fisher brings up the topic as part of his justification to put a mission together.

There are few other clues as to whatGhost Recon Breakpointplayers can expect in the trailer. Imagery shown in the background includes an underwater shot looking up toward the surface and a bright light, a mountain, a masked and hooded figure, a drone, a Terminator, a couple of guns, and then theBreakpointsquad. The final image is the most interesting. It shows seven shadowed figures, each with the label “unknown” across their faces.

Deep State has long been announced as one ofBreakpoint’s post-launch DLC releases. This is the first time Ubisoft’s talked about it, though. A second post-launch DLC named Transcendence is also planned. Of course, givenGhost Recon Breakpoint’s sales struggles it’s entirely possible that Ubisoft’s plans have changed.

There’s still one major question revolving aroundGhost Recon Breakpoint. That being whether or not the game can bring back or build a community after such a lackluster start. The answer to that isn’t obvious.Ghost Recon Wildlandsdid have quite a bit of success with itsSplinter Cellcrossover event, butWildlandswas also much more popular to start. There’s no way to know unless Ubisoft goes forward with its plans, though. At the very least, March 24 will be a great day for those already invested inBreakpoint.
