Artur Laczkowski is a designer for Bloober Team, a game developer in Kraków, Poland. He is perhaps best known for his emulation for PC and PS4 of theP.T.demo, an early look at Konami’scanceled addition to theSilent Hillseries. Łączkowski has stated that he’s a big fan ofSilent Hill, which he cites as the very reason he decided to makeDeath of Rose. Other potential influences include the similarly character driven horror gamesMan of MedanandUntil Dawn, both by developer Supermassive Games, as Laczkowski posted on his Twitter that he believes them to be two of the best horror games of the decade.
Laczkowski’s work with Bloober Team could prove especially important, however, as the developer is popular in the horror genre with notable games includingLayers of Fear,Observer, andBlair Witch. All of these titles have heavy emphasis on story, exploration, and characters.
For those who prefer playing their games with a controller,Death of Rosehas been confirmed to offer controller support. Whether the game will find its way onto console however, has not been confirmed by Laczkowski. For now, the title seems to be only available on PC.
While this does appear to be Laczkowski’s first independently published game, he has several unreleased games, in addition to experience with both the creation and emulation ofother horror titles. Those anxious to purchase the game won’t take long to see the final product in motion though, considering its trailer came out about three weeks before release. The best of luck to Laczkowski in his first endeavor into the world of indie games.
Death of Roseis slated for release on PC on February 20th.
