Sackboy: A Big Adventurehas many costumes from PlayStation’s most popular franchises, but was starkly missing some fromThe Last of Us. Now though, can download skins for Ellie and Abby fromThe Last of Us Part 2inSackboy: A Big Adventure.
It was announced last week thatSackboy: A Big Adventurewas getting Ellie and Abby skinsin honor of their series' annual September 26 celebration,The Last of UsDay.A Big Adventurelaunched with the PS5 in fall 2020, and took the iconic Sackboy in a direction quite dissimilar to his days ofLittleBigPlanet.A Big Adventureis a more straightforward platformer that does away withLittleBigPlanet’s 2D-lane-shifting gameplay, playing more likeSuper Mario 3D Worldbut with the classic charm of the Sackboy world. Over the past year,A Big Adventurehas added skins from some of PlayStation’s other big franchises like the titular Ratchet and Clank, and Selene fromReturnal.

Players can now downloadSackboy: A Big Adventure’s free Ellie and Abby skins on PS4 and PS5. The skins are based onEllie and Abby fromThe Last of Us Part 2, beautifully translating their iconic appearances into the Sackboy style. Both skins are very detailed, showing how committed the team was to bring these characters to life inA Big Adventure. For example, the Ellie skin includes her signature backpack, featuring the space museum pin, while the Abby skin brings over her unique backpack design, as well as Abby’s deadly hammer, slung through the right side.
These skins join a swarm of other announcements and surprises that came onThe Last of UsDay. Although fans still did not get a look at the project,Naughty Dog confirmedThe Last of UsFactionswas in development, after what’s seemed like a year of teases. Fans did catch a glimpse of Joel and Ellie inThe Last of UsHBO show, or at least their backs. Besides discounts onThe Last of Uscontent on PS4 and PS5, theseA Big Adventureskins are sadly the only new currently playable content that came out of the day.
Prior to A Big Adventure, Sackboy was representing PlayStation characters during hisLittleBigPlanetdays. Furthermore, this is not the first time Sackboy has had an Ellie skin, asLittleBigPlanet 2received aThe Last of UsMinipack DLC which included Ellie and Joel from the first game. AlthoughPlayStation shut down the PS3LittleBigPlanetservers, those skins are still downloadable for players to run through the single-player mode with. Sackboy is a mascot perfect for crossovers, so hopefully it doesn’t stop anytime soon.
