Although nothing is written in stone, Nintendo Direct could still likely happen sometime this month.

Nintendo Direct is the company’s way to stream to fans its updates within the company and announcing new games or projects. Sadly, there hasn’t been a proper Nintendo Direct aside from small streams and Mini in over a year since E3 last year when the Big N announcedBreath of the Wild 2.

While there have been other updates and the like, none of them hold up a candle to the excitement fans have over a trueNintendo Direct. However, Nintendo fans might be in luck, as recently some tweets have risen from a known Twitter leak account claiming the possibility of the event arriving shortly this month.

Nintendo has been known to start a Nintendo Direct without any prior announcement, so it isn’t improbable that this would happen without any warning. The rumor all started from a Twitter user named “Kelios” who has a track record for predicting the timings for theMarch Direct Minibefore they were solidified. Now because of this, fans on Twitter are in mass hysteria uploading memes in hopes that this rumor is true, with August 06, 2025 becoming the main focal point of speculation.

It seems fans are aware how unlikely it seems but hope they are proven wrong, and Nintendo surprises its fans last minute. Some Twitter users are posting their predictions for the next lineup ofSmashDLC characterswhile others are hoping for sequels to their favorite games.

So far, there hasn’t been any word from Nintendo that would confirm the legitimacy of this rumor. According to Kelios, if there isn’t a Nintendo Direct soon, then there must’ve been a quick change of plans within the Nintendo headquarters. Some of the possibilities for announced projects are remastered versions ofSuper Mario SunshineandSuper Mario 64. There is even a chance that anewF-Zerogamewill be revealed for the Switch, the last game dating all the way back in 2004. Whether or not the announcement comes, fans should be excited for the Nintendo polish the company is known for putting in all of its games.
