In the week ending May 9, the global top seller’s page displayedResident Evil Villageat the top, but also a couple of different bundles includingResident Evil 7andResident Evil Village. Those titles came in ranked at six and seven, respectively.

Sitting at the second spot was a game that hasn’t been released yet.Hood: Outlaws and Legendsis set to release on Monday, but pre-orders have pushed it right up againstResident Evil Village. This in turn pushedPUBGto the third position after it had been ranked first last week. This also pushedIt Takes Twoto the fourth spot, and theValve Index VR Kitright behind at number five. From there, after the bundles for theResident Evilgames,Arma 3’s Prairie Fire DLC comes in at eight. The pre-order forMass Effect: Legendary Editiontakes the ninth spot, and then rounding out the top 10 isNier: Automata, not the newly releasedNier Replicant.
With anticipation that brewed for the game, it’s no wonderResident Evil Villagetook the top spot, but to obtain three spots in the top 10 has to be seen as a resounding success. This has also driven sales ofResident Evil 7, as it was the other game contained in the bundle. With all of theexcitement swirling aroundResident Evil Village, it’s a testament to players going out and getting it any way that they could. A lot of the top games have been mainstays for some time, so to push those out while coming in at the top has to only be seen as a success.
Having been released on May 7,Resident Evil Villagehas taken the gaming world by storm on all consoles that it is available on, including PC. Whether it holds the top spot after the upcoming weekremains to be seen, asHood: Outlaws and Legendsis set to be released.
