Niantic has fully revealed the details as to what awaitsPokemon GOplayers in the next season of the mobile hit, calledSeason of Light. And like every newPokemon GOseason, players can expect some unfamiliar Pokemon in their area, debuts of new Pokemon, Raids, events, and more.
Season of Light Start Time
Pokemon GO’s Season of Light started on July 31, 2025. The season will end on July 04, 2025, at 10 am.
Updated on Jul 25, 2025:This Pokemon GO Season of Light guide has been updated with information on theongoing Greedy Gluttons event,which is the debut of the Junkivore Pokemon,Guzzlord, who will appear in 5-star Raids. The Halloween event has come to an end, so our dedicated section for it has now been removed.

Cosmog
The season will introduce the Legendary Nebula Pokemon,Cosmog. This Pokemon was first unveiled inPokemon SunandPokemon Moon, and it’s able to evolve into both boxart Legendaries forSunandMoon, Solgaleo and Lunala.
As part of a new update to the Cosmog quest,Pokemon GOplayers can now evolve their Cosmog into Cosmoem.
During the season, players will be able to somehow bond with Cosmog to learn more about it. There will also be Special Research that seems tied to Cosmog, so players should make sure to check their Research tab as the season progresses.
There are also some cosmetic items coming to thePokemon GOshop that are inspired by the Nebula Pokemon. Themed Stickers are up for grabs, too.
