Summary
A talentedPokemonfan has recently created an amazing fusion of the Galarian Ponyta with Rowlet, coming up with a brand-new creature. ThePokemoncommunity loves to imagine fusions of popular monsters, and this fan managed to achieve a very cute result with this artwork.
The Fire-type Ponyta is a horse-inspired creature that originally appeared in the first generation ofPokemongames. This Pokemon received a regional variant inPokemon Sword and Shield, the Galarian Ponyta, which is a Psychic-type variant that resembles a unicorn. The Grass/Flying-type Rowlet, on the other hand, is one of the starters inPokemon Sun and Moon, and it remains a popular critter due to its lovely owl face.

Now, aPokemonfan called Saurgazing has decided to combine the Galarian Ponyta with Rowlet, coming up with an interesting result. This unnamed fusion looks like a small unicorn with orange fur and small wings. In its feet and mane, the Ponyta-Rowlet fusion has leaves that resemble the ones in Rowlet’s design. This creature’s type is not indicated by Saurgazing in their post, but fans could argue that it would likely be a Grass/Psychic-type or a Grass/Flying-type Pokemon, considering the two monsters that inspire it.
Ponyta and Rowlet Fusion Pokemon Fan Art
Ponyta and its evolution Rapidash are quite popular in thePokemoncommunity, and this is not the first time that fans have made an artwork depicting a fusion involving one of these creatures. Last year, a fan created afusion of Rapidash and Giratina in pixel art. This artwork depicted the fusion as a greyish horse with a ghostly black mane and a crown-like object on its head.
While Rowlet does not have an official regional variant like Ponyta does, fans have already tried to imagine what that would look like. Some time ago, for instance, aPokemonplayer came up with afan-made Hisuian regional variant for Rowletand its evolution Dartrix. This variant was quite similar to the original Rowlet, but it differed due to having another kind of feathers, which were more inspired by maple leaves due to a colder climate.
Time will tell what kinds of new fusions thePokemoncommunity will design in the future, as some recent works have been widely praised. Recently, aPokemonfan created anamazing fusion of Vaporeon and Blacephalon. In this design, the fan devised a creature that looks like a flashy Vaporeon dressed as a clown, having several bright colors as well as some fish-inspired elements.
