OnePokemonfan has created adorable pixel versions of classic pocket monsterson chainmail. Ever sincePokemonspread across schools in the mid-1990s there have been legions of fans wanting to absorb themselves in Nintendo’s world of pocket monsters as they try to catch ‘em all.
The latest games in the long-running franchise were released on the Nintendo Switch last November, andPokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violetbrought a slew of new monsters to the attention of the fanbase. It wasn’t the smoothest release as the games have been plagued with numerous bugs, and crashes. Although this hasn’t seemed to deter the community asPokemon Scarlet and Violetsmashed Nintendo’s own sales records. However rather than focusing on the current generation, one fan looks back to the Kanto region for their medieval-inspired fan art.

On Reddit, a user by the name of Traditional-Row-7876 has posted pictures of their chainmail creations which feature the Kanto starters, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, as well as an adorable Jigglypuff. Each piece of mail was painstakingly linked together, with the OP estimating each piece took around 8-12 hours to complete. They went on to explain that the pixel artwork was created by pre-coloring each ring before linking them all together line by line.
The pocket-sized chainmail is certainly a hit with fans, with many of the comments not only praising the end result but Traditional-Row-7876’s attention to detail and patience in linking each individual ring. ThePokemoncommunity has always been supportive of those who decide to showcase their art, such asone fan that has given Quilladin a makeover.
Elsewhere, gamers have been eagerly waiting for Pokemon Home connectivity to link the subscription service toPokemon Scarlet and Violet.Earlier in the week The Pokemon Company confirmeda software update to Pokemon Home was due on May 24, but it seems the Japanese company pulled the trigger too early and quickly rescinded the announcement and delayed the update to a future date.
The news didn’t come at the best time asNintendo has canceled the latest Tera Raids inPokemon Scarlet and Violetdue to players reporting a large number of bugs when attempting to battle Great Tusk and Iron Treads. The raids will be rescheduled for a later date, but Nintendo hasn’t given any indication of when that would be, however, this latest hiccup won’t deter the artistic fans from showcasing their artwork to the rest of the community.
