Showing off over two dozen incredible new experiences coming thePlayStation 5over the next few years,Sony’s “The Future of Gaming” conferencewas a mind-blowing introduction to what players can expect out of the next generation of gaming. While many were very vocal with their concerns that the console manufacturer was being oddly silent in the lead up to the release of the next big piece of gaming hardware, yesterday was proof that the PlayStation 5 will have both insanely advanced technology and, more importantly, some of the biggest and best experiences on the market.

It seems that Sony isn’t done there, however, with PlayStation boss Jim Ryan confirming to the BBC that there are still more games on the way. According to Ryan, this conference was merely a taste of what players can expect when they grab themselves aPlayStation 5console, with the industry icon claiming that there’s more to come in the lead up to release.

“We wanted AAA games that would fully demonstrate the horsepower of the machine,” Ryan claims, discussing why the broadcast focused on such a diverse library of games. “But some of these smaller games are making very cool and innovative use of the new features of the console. So we allowed the show to give a sense of the sheer range of gameplay experience that will be available on PlayStation 5. And this is just the start. There are so many more games that we have in development.” Clearly, Sony is not looking to stray away from the sense of momentum it’s carved itself over the last decade, with thePlayStation 4frequently releasing groundbreaking titles over its seven-year run as the most popular console in the gaming space.

Many will have realized, after all, that yesterday’s PlayStation 5 conference was stacked with countless major games that were mostly targeting 2021 release dates. As for what the future holds for the console, it seems fairly likely thata newGod of Waris in the worksseen as Sony Santa Monica’s last take on the franchise is heralded as one of the best games of the entire generation. Other than that, some have claimed they’d love to see a fifthUnchartedtitle, while others have been tirelessly petitioning to see FromSoftware return to theBloodbornefranchise.

Regardless, it’s fantastic to hear Sony is ready to bring the big guns with the release of the PlayStation 5.
