InPersona 5 Royal, players have the option of traveling to various cities outside Shibuya. These are referred to as Hangout Spots, and they’re useful in collecting room decorations and gaining Confidant points. Hangout Spots can be unlocked several ways inPersona 5 Royalonce players have started Confidants. Getting every Hangout Spot will net more trophies such as the Tokyo Tourist trophy.
Once a Hangout Spot is added to the map, players can visit them by speaking to Confidants that aren’t ready to Rank Up or Maxed-Out Confidants. It should be noted that while all Hangout Spots can be unlocked in a first playthrough, the protagonist won’t be able to visit a few of them if he’s not in a relationship.

List Of Hangout Spots & How To Unlock Them
Players can discover Hangout Spots byreading the books at the Central Store or by advancing Confidants.Some Hangout Spots are unlocked during the main story, and thus impossible to miss. Areas such as Kichijoji and Shinjuku have various sites to visitsuch as the Darts and Billiards loungeand the Crossroads bar respectively. It’s also important to keep an eye out for IMs from other characters. Mishima will invite Joker to the Planetarium if it hasn’t already been unlocked, and Ryuji will invite Joker to Harajuku. It’s not required to accept these invitations, since the book/pamphlet that unlocks them can be bought from the store. However,accepting an invitation will increase Confidant points.Choosing to spend time with them or reading a Hangout Spot book will use up Joker’s afternoon or evening.

Other areas that are unlocked duringPersona 5 Royal’s story include Nagatacho, Miura Beach, and Akasaka Mitsuke.However, these spots are plot-related and can’t be visited during Joker’s free time.

Inviting Confidants Out
If a Confidant isn’t ready to Rank Up, players will have the option of inviting them to one of the Hangout Spots. This is a good time to build on Confidant points. Each Confidant has a preference for what areas they wish to visit. Disliked areas will appear “grayed-out” on the map, and selecting them will have them tell Joker they want to go elsewhere.Sometimes Confidants will give Joker a souvenir depending on the location.For example,taking Ann Takamaki to the Wilton Buffet (Shibuya)will unlock the Chocolate Fountain room decoration.
There are also Hangout Spots that arecouple-exclusive,such as Destinyland and Odaiba’s Ferris Wheel. This means Joker won’t be able to visit them unless he’s in a relationship with one of the female Confidants. Oddly enough, Joker can take Ryuji to Dome Town despite it being an area for couples. Taking him to this Hangout Spot won’t net Joker any souvenirs, however.
