Gameplay footage from an alleged remake ofPersona 3has leaked online.Persona 3is a critically acclaimed JRPG that originally launched on the PlayStation 2, but developer Atlus has since re-released the game multiple times on different platforms.
Persona 3comes in different versions, mainlyPersona 3 FESandPersona 3 Portable, each with its own list of pros and cons. For example,Persona 3 Portableallows gamers to control their party members in combat, giving them more control over the flow of battle. On the other hand, it doesn’t feature full 3D movement outside of dungeons, as players control a dot instead of the main character. Due to each version having different strengths and weaknesses, fans have been asking for a full remake ofPersona 3for a while now, and it looks like their prayers may have been answered.

As reported by TheGamer, and originally shared by aikaangelica on Twitter, the brief clip featuresYukari Takeba fromPersona 3hitting an enemy with a series of arrows. The same account later clarifies that the footage seems to be a part of an internal meeting at SEGA Japan in 2021. The footage appears to be of high quality, and it looks fairly similar to the animation style and visual effects ofPersona 5, but there is always a chance of it being fan-made. Keeping that in mind, gamers should take every rumor or leak with a grain of salt, and wait for an official announcement from the developer or publisher.
Rumors about aPersona 3remake have been circulating for some time, but Atlus has not shared any information regarding the same. It recently hosted a series of special events to celebrate the25-year anniversary of thePersonaseries, but no news on a remake ofPersona 3came from this event. It was perhaps a perfect opportunity to announce this highly-requested title, but fans should not count these rumors out just yet.
An insider recently confirmed aPersona 3remake is indeed real, despitePersona 3 Portablebeing released on modern platforms in January 2023. The leaker stated that this move allows Atlus to sell the portable version ofPersona 3before giving fans a full-blown remake, presumably with all the new gameplay features and quality-of-life improvements found inPersona 5 Royal. Assuming these rumors turn out to be true, it’ll be interesting to see when and how Atlus decides to announce this game.
