Atlus has confirmed more members ofPersona 3 Reload’s new English dub cast. These voice actors are for the characters who are a part ofPersona 3’s social link system, which are special visual novel-like sequences where the player and NPCs interact with each other. SincePersona 3was the progenitor of this system, it would go on to be refined in its sequels, culminating inPersona 5’s confidant system.Persona 3 Reloadwill be overhauling the Social Link systemto bring it closer to the modern games, which makes it one of the biggest changes compared to the original.
One of the biggest overhaulsPersona 3 Reloadis making is the inclusion of fully voiced dialogue for each time the player moves up a rank. In the original game, there was no voice acting for these rank-up sequences, so the remake provides characters with in-game voices for the first time.Persona 3 Reloadconfirmed some of these social link characters and their voice actorsin the dub, who were all a part of the student body of the school that the protagonist attends. More of the social links that Atlus recently revealed are mostly found outside of school and can be found on Tatsumi Port Island.

These were all confirmed by Faz on Twitter, who listed each character and their associated voice actor inPersona 3 Reload. These include the shady president of the shopping commodities company, Tanaka, the alcoholic Buddhist monk Mutatsu, the top athlete of Gekkoukan High Mamoru Hayase, the young girl Maiko Oohashi, the dying young man Akinari Kamiki, and the elderly couple of Bunkichi and Mitsuko Kitamura. The actor lineup includes a number of familiar names who dubbed AAA video games and popular anime, likeFire Emblem,Demon Slayer,Bleach, and many more.
One social link that was shown in the preview screenshots,Persona 3’s Hermit social link with Maya, was confirmed to not have any voice acting. In the original game, this social link was done over the Internet, with Maya sending messages to the protagonist in an MMO that they play. As such, it makes sense that the social link is silent, as the protagonist, and by extension the player, are reading messages that are sent by Maya instead of them being spoken.
One of the preview screenshots showsan improvement over the originalPersona 3, which displays messages sent to the protagonist’s cellphone. This brings it closer toPersona 5’s system, where friends will send out invitations to hang out, meaning players won’t need to track down a character to hang out with them. This sytem also applies to other reminders, giving players a heads-up about what they can do for the day.
