Summary
Overwatch 2players recently found a bug that is affecting Hanzo’s damage output. This new bug was discovered a couple of days after the release of new patches forOverwatch 2and its seventh season featuring the Damage hero Hanzo as he received his first mythic skin this season.
Overwatch 2kicked off its seventh season on October 10 with the new control map Samoa, PvE modes for Halloween Terror 2023, acollaboration withDiablo, a new battle pass filled with Halloween-themed cosmetics, and Hanzo’s first mythic skin. A few heroes were tweaked with balance updates while Sombra received a major rework to her kit. Although Hanzo did not receive any balance updates or reworks this time around, another feature has been adjusted for this hero that may have caused this bug.

AnOverwatch 2player shared footage of the game-changing bug on Reddit that shows Hanzo dealing massive damage to Tank hero Roadhog in the practice range. In the video by Actual_Rock7844, the player charged up Hanzo’s bow and fired all five arrows which eliminated his target. However, Hanzo was still able to maintain his maximum damage output without charging up his shots. He eliminated Roadhog in only three shots after respawning. This bug was likely introduced afterHanzo received an update to his hero specific settingsthat now gives players the option to toggle their primary fire. Blizzard has yet to address this issue.
Many players are curious about how to take advantage of this bug while others are suggesting to remove Hanzo from the game until the bug is fixed. Some players are also jokingly sharing how this bug is what will sellHanzo’s first mythic skin, which many find underwhelming due to the lack of customization options and its similarity to other heroes’ mythics.
Overwatch 2still feels like a work-in-progress a year after its release, but it has improved significantly by consistently providing players with new content such as new modes including Hero Mastery and Flashpoint, and highly-anticipated PvE modes Invasion, Wrath of the Bride, Trials of Sanctuary, and more. Although many players criticizeOverwatch 2for its monetization choices, it is still steadily holding its spot as one of the most popular FPS games.
Overwatch 2is available to play now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
