A talented gamer makes an animated GIF featuring the notable abilities of some ofOverwatch 2’s most iconic characters.Overwatch 2has been out for several months, and a number of players have been making fan art based on the variety of characters in the team-based hero shooter.
While there are many reasons for the popularity of theOverwatchseries, one factor contributing to its long-term success has been its large and diverse roster of characters. In fact, the list of heroes inOverwatch 2continues to grow asRamattra was added at the start of Season 2. Despite some characters being more viable in the game’s meta, each hero comes equipped with distinct abilities that make them feel unique. Recently, one fan decided to make a memorable piece of fan art showing some of these abilities in action.

In a post on Reddit, a user known as drowsykb shared a video of a unique animation they created based on theOverwatchseries. Specifically, the artist decided to make an animated GIF featuring three more well-known characters inOverwatch 2: Soldier 76, Genji, and Reaper. The sixteen-second video began with a man, presumably Soldier 76, running out into the middle of the picture. The character stopped and proceeded to unload his entire magazine before reloading.Soldier 76 then showed off his Sprint abilityas he bolted off the side of the screen.
While this animation was impressive, it was only the first of several made by drowsykb. Following Soldier 76, another character leaped into the shot. This was none other than the cybernetic ninja known as Genji. His identity was quickly revealed after throwing several of his signature Shurikens into the ground before dashing off the screen. Last but not least, Reaper appeared via an ominous cloud. He then fired his dual shotguns before the animation ended.
Unsurprisingly, many gamers were impressed with this unique GIF animation created by drowsykb. Since posting the clip several days ago, it has gained more than 1.9K upvotes, and several users wondered what program was used to make this impressive animation. Fortunately, the animator was quick to respond, noting they used Krita to make the video. In addition, drowsykb revealed they planned to make more animations featuring other heroes fromOverwatch 2, such asWrecking Balland Doomfist.
With36 heroes currently inOverwatch 2, it will take drowsykb a while in order to make animations featuring all the characters in the game. Furthermore, Blizzard plans to continue to introduce new characters to the game in some of the future seasons of the free-to-play title. This means drowsykb should be able to get plenty more practice animating classic and newOverwatchcharacters in the coming months if that is what they choose to do.
