Oddworld: Soulstormis finally out and players are exploring the reimagined story ofOddworld: Abe’s Exodduson PC, PS4, and PS5. ThoughOddworld: Soulstormhas some bugsjust days after its launch, Abe’s story is still a fascinating one that interested players should absolutely keep their eyes on.
Now, in celebration ofOddworld: Soulstorm’s launch, publisher and developer Oddworld Inhabitants has released an all new launch trailer showing off a mix of gameplay and cutscenes.Oddworld: Soulstorm’s launch trailer sets up Abe’s uprising against the Glukkons, showcasing various scenes such as a train hijacking and factory infiltration.

The trailer itself is just under two minutes long and shows off a lot of what makesOddworldunique. The launch trailer forOddworld: Soulstormappears to be captured on PS5and it certainly shows.Soulstorm’s 2.5D sidescrolling platform gameplay is filled with detailed and varied environments that look great on the PS5’s powerful hardware. Additionally, the trailer showed plenty more ofOddworld: Soulstorm’sLemmings-esque gameplay, where players are tasked with guiding as many Mudokons to safety as possible.
Of course, saving the Mudokons is one of the key elements ofOddworld: Soulstormand the previous entries in the series. Similar to the originalAbe’s Exoddus,Oddworld: Soulstormhas different endingsthat players can unlock depending on how many Mudokons they’ve saved over the course of the game. While saving Mudokons is a fun way to get different endings, it also provides an extra layer of depth and challenge toOddworld’s puzzle platforming gameplay.
For those players new to theOddworldseries,Oddworld: Soulstormis a follow-up to 2014’sOddworld: New n' Tasty!. New and Tasty!is a full remake of thefirst entry in theOddworldseries,Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee,which was released on PC and PlayStation all the way back in 1997.As such,Soulstormis a remake and reimagining of the second game in the series, as opposed to a full-on continuation of Abe’s story from a chronological standpoint.
It’s certainly been a long time coming forOddworld: Soulstormto make its way into player’s hands.Soulstormwas originally announced for a 2017release date, but was delayed pretty heavily over the course of development. Now, four years later fans are finally able to get their hands on the game to see just what Oddworld Inhabitants have done with the remake of the second entry in the series.
