Amazon Games is preparing to launch the new Legacy of Crassus event for its colonial-themed MMORPGNew World. The upcoming event, which features new bosses, items, and daily rewards, goes live on February 21 and runs until March 7.
Amazon Games launchedNew Worldin September 2021. An MMO action RPG set in the fictional North Atlantic island of Aeternum, the game received a massive amount of hype leading up to its release and a significant spike in popularity early on. However, a troubled launch and persistent issues resulted in its player numbers falling off early in 2021, andNew Worldsaw only mediocre reviews upon release. Still, Amazon has not given up on the game and continues to roll out new events and content.

Legacy of Crassus is the latest of these new events.New World’s upcoming event sees the might of Rome return to Aeternum.Although players kill Crassus duringNew World’s Ennead Expedition, his Corrupted Legion is not defeated, embarking on an invasion of the southern lands. Carrying out a plan laid centuries prior, Crassus’ followers summon the cyclopes Lucanus and Decimus to subjugate the island.
Players will need to hunt down these monstrous centurions if they intend to save the island from Roman dominion.New Worldplayers can battle both in two new level 66 boss fights and unlock eight exclusive weapons and armor pieces. Players can challenge theseNew Worldbosses by looking for portals opening aroundNew World’s island of Aeternum. They can find them at Brightwood, Weavers Fen, Mourningdale, Ebonscale Reach, and Edengrove.
New Worldplayerscan battle Lucanus and Decimus as often as they want, with each victory granting a random leveled item or a named item from Brimstone Sands or greater Aeternum. In addition, each victory deposits one of eight random legendary items in a special reward cache. These include the Wrath of Decimus Great Axe, Hoplites Great Blade, Cuirass of Decimus Heavy Chest Armor, Fists of Decimus Heavy Gauntlets, Sagittar of Lucanus Bow, Vesuvius Fire Staff, Galea of Lucanus Medium Helm and Hobnailed Boots of Lucanus Medium Boots.
Amazon says thatNew Worldplayers are guaranteed to unlock all of them after defeating Lucanus and Decimus eight times. Additionally, the daily rewards will also include one to three Obsidian Gypsum, 500 Umbral Shards, and a Craft Mod with a 25% chance to add powerful effects toNew World’s crafted items. Altogether, the upcoming Legacy of Crassus is an excellent opportunity forNew Worldfans to snag some powerful Roman-inspired gear.
