With the nextWorld of Warcraftexpansion less than a year away, it’s time for gamers to start uncovering a ton of details about the upcoming content thanks to alpha servers and datamining. The new content takes players toa brand new area, the Shadowlands, which is going to be full of new races and creature types for citizens of Azeroth to meet and interact with.

As more information aboutWorld of Warcraft: Shadowlandsarrives, the MMO community is learning more about some of the races that they will soon be interacting with in the game’s next expansion. As the character models for those new races begin to become open for the public to examine, many members of theWoWcommunity are getting their hopes up for some winged allied races.

The new races in question are the Kyrian and Swolekin. According toWoWhead, the character models that were datamined are full of customization options  including hair style, accessories, and numerous apparel options. Keep in mind that all of those options would be necessary to produce enough NPCs to populate major cities and doesn’t necessarily mean that Blizzard is planning ahead to make either of theseAllied Racesin the near future.

That said, parts of theWoWcommunity are definitely excited at the idea of playing as either Kyrian or Bastion’s Swolekin. Both races are very unique and would be pretty aesthetically different from any of the existing options. Honestly, they seem so unique and customized that they might have to work more like a brand new race, rather than an Allied Race, which is usually a variant of an existing playable model.

Either way, both races are very cool and it will be exciting to learn more about their roles in the new content as the year progresses. There are already plenty ofearly Shadowlands spoilers floating aroundthanks to the alpha servers, but players who want to wait for the real release to experience things will likely have to hold out until fall 2020 for the expansion to arrive. And that’s assuming the coronavirus impact on the economy and workforce don’t lead to any delays at Blizzard.

Keep in mind that neither of these races have been confirmed to be playable yet and any discussions about Allied Race options are pure speculation at this point.
