Summer Game Fest recently announced that it is holding yetanother showcase next week on July 20th, but this time with a special surprise in store. During the stream, Kero Kero Bonito will perform a live version of the theme song to the upcoming PS5 game,Bugsnax.
Bugsnaxwas revealed at the PS5 Future of Gaming event, and was oddly one of the most exciting things shown. The game looks quirky as all get out, and shows strange creatures eating bugs made of food items to change their physical appearances. The theme song is also wacky and amazing.

Kero Kero Bonito is the original artist of the theme song, called “It’s Bugsnax,” and they will be giving a special live performance of it at theSummer Game Fest. As if a live performance of this caliber wasn’t enough to get fans to tune in, there will also be some games shown as well.
Bugsnaxis mysterious, to the point where many suspect it may actually be a horror game, but those wanting to catch theperformance can tune in at 7:30 AM PT for the preshow and 8 AM PT for the main event. It isn’t entirely clear when the performance will take place, but the event is looking to be interesting so it’s worth sticking around for the whole thing. In addition to this,An Airport for Aliens Currently Run By Dogs,Dreamscaper, Unto the End,and more are also scheduled to be showcased.
The Summer Game Fest ishosted by Geoff Keighley, and is the closest thing to a summer gaming event that fans will have the pleasure of attending this year. The whole thing is live streamed and these showcases occur on a monthly basis. That means there should be at least one more in August before the series ends. For those that don’t know Keighley once co-hosted the G4TV show as well as the Game Trailers TV show, and occasionally writes for Kotaku as well. His Summer Games Fest has been a huge success so far, and will likely continue to be.
Bugsnaxhas gamers under an odd sort of spell, as just enough has been revealed to get fans interested in the project but its strange, sinister undertones are working to keep that attention. Whether it ends up being a cutesy, whimsical adventure or ifBugsnaxreally is a horror game, fans will have to wait until this holiday season to find out.
Bugsnaxwill be available for PC, PS4, and PS5.
