The product is actually a high-quality kitchen item made by the brand “made in TSUBAME,” which comes from Tsubame City in Niigata, Japan. It’s name 燕三条マンガ肉の骨, which roughly translates to the “Tsubame-Sanjo Manga Meat Bone,” and while itmay look like a joke item, it is far from it. It even comes with a certification by the Niigata Prefecture Tsubame Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s “Made in Tsubame” Examination Committee.

The idea behind the Manga Meat Bone was to make a bridge between the anime world and the real world. The creators behind the product said that they modeled it after the bones of a red fox or coyote, which look the most like the bones depicted in animation. They were careful to tread the line between it looking too comical and silly, and looking too realistic, which would be creepy. The middle line between the two is where the Manga Meat Bone comes from, letting peoplefeel like a manga characterwhen they cook and eat meat.

Plus, the Manga Meat Bone comes in a pack of two which connect to one another when needed, and can be used to stab not just one end ofthe chunk of meatbut both ends! It also comes with a protective case that still looks like a bone, but can keep the fork safe between uses. It is made from aluminum and silicon, and is even safe to be used while cooking the meat. And at a cost of just 2,500 yen ($17 USD), it is pretty affordable, too.

This is actually the second Manga Meat Bone product that made in TSUBAME released, but the previous one required 1kg of meat to make it work. That was not received well by many people, who claimed it was too big for individual use. Thus, this new product was born, which can let an ordinary person become something extraordinary - a manga character like Luffy, enjoying a huge piece of meat on the bone!
