Need For Speedgames are fun to play, even for players who don’t really play racing games. The reason being is that they’re accessible, but still allow players to create their own rides the way they see fit. While the series has its own ups and downs,Need For Speedhas certainly helped shape the genre as a whole. On top of that, the series has taken many forms, from being one of the basic racing games, where players would play on a closed course, to using the open-world mechanic. This would allow players to explore these vast open worlds, making them more immersed in the games. In turn,Need For Speedhas made some greatopen-world racing games.

The latest entry in the series,Need For Speed: Unboundfollows the great traditions that were set up by its predecessors. However, much like the rest of the series, the game still suffers from many issues both of which can take players out of the experience, and ruin the game overall. The good news is that while there are issues, most of them are fixable and can change the overall view ofNeed For Speed: Unbound. Here are some blaring issues that can ruin gameplay, but if fixed, can makeNeed For Speed: Unboundone of the best racers to date.

5Incentive To Explore In The Day

Much likeNeed For Speed: Heat, playing at night gives more to players, money, rep, and other rewards, which in turn made it one of thebest street racersin the scene.Need For Speed: Unboundhas a lot of that, but it also shares the same issue ofNeed For Speed: Heat, which in the daytime things are more relaxed. While players may like the different playstyles, it also makes the game feel unbalanced, where players would just drive at night.

Playing during the daytime gives players less overall, so they might not want to try it out as much.Need For Speed: Unboundhas a high-risk-high-reward playstyle and playing at night highlights that. However, if that playstyle was adopted to the daytime as well with a little more payout for each race, players would be able to level up faster and get better rewards consistently, because the game is more balanced that way.

4More Of A Reason To Explore

WhileNeed For Speed: Unboundis an open-world racing game, as mentioned before, players have this immersive world which they can drive their dream cars through. There’s still not enough of a reason to do so. WhatNeed For Speed: Unbounddoes is have races and events that players can reach in the open world, and that’s it. What would make things better is if there were collectibles or even cars players could find.

This would overall give an incentive for players to explore the regions, since it’s a massive world, players should have a reason to explore, and get rewarded for doing so, much likeForza Horizon. For example,Need For Speed: Unboundhas somereally fast cars. While players can buy them, it would be better if they could also earn them by exploring the regions. This way, they can save money on cars or parts they want, all while getting amazing rewards for just exploring.

3PC Optimization

Need For Speed: Unboundis the first next-genNeed For Speedgame using the power of the Xbox Series Xand PS5.The game works wonders on those new consoles, and owners of them feel really immersed by the life-like graphics. However, PCplayers have been plagued with technical issues that can be drawn back to optimization problems for the platform. Players have reported that the game stutterers, has infinite loading screens, and even cases when the game won’t load at all.

This makes it harder to appreciate one of the best-lookingNeed For Speedgames to date because the game itself is released in an unfortunate state. However, developers have fixed some issues, butNeed For Speed: Unboundis still filled with technical issues that should get addressed quickly. At the moment, this would be the best time to fix these issues, since that would help the players stay withNeed For Speed: Unbound.

2Overused Cops

As far as street racing goes,Need For Speedgames are not the same without a police chase. This adds a new element of immersion and makes players more excited when they drive. In fact, some of the bestNeed For Speedgames feature cops. It just makes driving and racing a lot more fun.The cop chaseswere what made games likeNeed For Speed: Heatreally dynamic because they were balanced. And when players reached a level 5 heat level, cops became more aggressive, making it harder to lose them.

If playersused these tips, along with what they learned, cop chases became pretty fun to play overall. InNeed For Speed: Unbound, the same heat system still exists. However, cops are everywhere, and while in the daytime they’re not that aggressive, they still hinder the player’s race. This can make the game harder than it needs to be because the usage of cops is overly used. If developers dialed back how aggressive the cops are, even on a lower heat level, gameplay can become more dynamic, and in turn, makeNeed For Speed: Unboundan enjoyable experience.

1Nos Pay Out Is Too Much

Relying on Nos can be a double-edged sword, when players use it they can zip past other cars, but depending on what the player is driving, the Nos can potentially be a temporary fix. InNeed For Speed: Unbound, players get rewarded with Nos by doing a bunch of things includingnear misses. Meaning they can get really close to NPC cars but not crash into them, and the game gives them a generous amount of Nos by doing that. The issue with this is thatNeed For Speed: Unbound, gives out too much Nos, more than the player would need, making fans too reliant on it.

If there are no Nos left in their tank, and if players are used to it, they can have a hard time racing.Need For Speedgames work well when players are able to adapt to any situation during a race, and if they limit themselves to using Nos all the time, that can hinder their performance. Nos should primarily be used sparingly, and in areas where players know they could lose speed. For example, even if they have some of thebest drift carsinNeed For Speed: Unbound, players can still mess up the tight corner, which will make them lose speed, control, or both. This will cause them to lose their position, but if they have Nos, players can utilize that and get back in the race as if nothing happened.
