Summary

One particularMultiVersuscharacter interaction aimed at Black Adam appears to throw shade at The Rock, who portrayed the DC villain in his 2022 movie. In the marketing run-up to theBlack Adamfilm, The Rock famously mentioned how his character would “rearrange the hierarchy of power in the DC universe,” and heavily hinted at a faceoff with DC icon Superman. Despite Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel briefly showing face in aBlack Adampost-credit scene, the hierarchy of power in the DC universe remained unchanged, as none of these plans took hold before esteemed filmmakerJames Gunn seized control of the DCEUin late 2022. Currently, Gunn has no known plans to include The Rock as Black Adam moving forward in his rebooted DCU.

Having just relaunched after going offline for about a year, Player First Games’MultiVersusis back on the scene with many improvements and important additions. The game’s visuals have been updated, as has its netcode, allowing for players to enjoy a smoother online multiplayer experience. Additionally, three new types of currencies have been added, as well as the all-new Rifts PvE mode. Perhaps most excitingly, new additions to the roster have been made, withFriday the 13th’s Jason Voorhees,The Matrix’s Agent Smith, and Banana Guard fromAdventure Timejoining the party.

New MultiVersus Update Has Fans Wanting to Save the Game

One of DC’s most popular villains, The Joker, has alsojoined theMultiVersusrosteras part of the game’s relaunch. The Joker’s The Batman Who Laughs skin features its own set of fun taunt voice lines he dishes out to other roster members. One interaction in particular, highlighted in Ben-Gun’s YouTube video at 3:09, takes aim at Black Adam and, by extension, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, as Joker comments “Weren’t you supposed to be rearranging the hierarchy or something?”

MultiVersus' Joker Taunts The Rock’s “Hierarchy Of Power”

Clearly a shot at The Rock’s ambitious-yet-failed plans to single-handedlyturn the DECU on its head, The Joker’s jab doesn’t garner a counter response fromMultiVersus’Black Adam. It’s unknown whether the taunt comes out with other Joker skins, or if players must be using The Batman Who Laughs skin specifically to hear it. It’s quite interesting to see one of these character interactions reference the antics of a real life actor, as most of them are bound within their respective universes.

There’s a wealth of moreWB-owned characters that have been leaked or rumored to come toMultiVersusin the future. While unconfirmed, the likes of Harry Potter, Mad Max, Beetlejuice, and Samurai Jack are just a handful of beloved characters that either populate theMultiVersusrumor mill or top fans' wish lists. With more exciting new characters planned to come to the roster inMultiVersus' future, the potential for more fun and interesting voice taunts between these characters is immense.
