New MultiVersus Update Has Fans Wanting to Save the Game

Player First Games community manager Ajax replied to a user-created take onMortal Kombat’s Scorpion. The concept art envisions aMultiVersus-inspired Scorpion, who fits surprisingly well within the game’s art style. A simple reply may not be enough to get excited about, but Ajax’s response used the wide-open-eyes emoji. While unconfirmed,Mortal Kombathas long been rumored for aMultiVersuscrossover, with Ajax seemingly leaving the door open for this iconic fighting game character to join the roster.

MultiVersus Dev Teases Mortal Kombat Crossover

MultiVersusrelaunched earlier this summer, equipped with more robust features and improvements. Unlike other fighting games,MultiVersusallows players to use different characters on a rotational basis. Players can unlock characters permanently by playing matches and completing quests, but developers have worked to ensure fans get a taste of all the characters in the base game.

While Scorpion is still a maybe, players are excited forMultiVersus’new character to drop in next week’s update. As part of its mid-season update patch,MultiVersusis introducing Agent Smith, the legendary character fromThe Matrixfranchise. Smith will joinMultiVersus' expansive and eclectic list of fighters, which now includes Jason fromFriday the 13th, Shaggy fromScooby Doo, and a variety of DC superheroes and villains like Batman, Superman, and Joker. Alongside Agent Smith,MultiVersus' new update will also shake things up for players, adding new Free-For-All and Spectator modes.MultiVersuswill also receive a new Megalodog Rift, as well as several new variants of classic maps.
