Love it or hate it, the fact is the gaming industry is seemingly in the midst of a remake frenzy. With theDead Spaceremake coming in Januaryand the reimagining ofResident Evil 4hot on its heels, there is still a lot of room left for bringing back older games and seeing how they fare in the more modern gaming era. But before those two releases, gamers will have the remake ofThe Last of Us, which is due next month.

There’s been a lot of talk about Naughty Dog’s latest take on the first entry in the studio’s critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic series. There’s been a bit of footage from the upcomingThe Last of Us, at least enough to whet the appetites of fans, and recently, another clip was leaked. However, it seems as though this latest video was deleted by the leaker, but not before the likes of Imgur could get hold of it. The clip shows a brief moment from the game’s story, but plot line aside, it’s another example of what the remake will look like upon release. The footage was said to have been released by freelance games writer Tom Henderson, who’s known in the industry for leaking a heap of gaming details ahead of time. Recently, he made mention of apossibleDead Island 2revival, which has been stuck in development hell for quite some time. Henderson has also been known to leak information about the likes ofGrand Theft Auto 6,as well as the latest rumors about what EA is possibly working on.

Recently, there’s also been quite a bit of coverage about the Naughty Dog remake. A recentThe Last of Usvideo compares the PS4 version to the remake, which is handy for those who are interested in seeing a side-by-side comparison between this upcoming version and the remaster that was launched in 2014.

Featuringone of the most powerful storylines in gaming,The Last of Us Part 1andPart 2struck a chord with fans, particularly with their depictions of grief and the theme of loss. While there will be some people out there who perhaps don’t feel that a game which came out less than ten years ago is worthy of a remake, it will give others the opportunity to relive a more up-to-date version of the original game’s highly praised story.
