How To Get The Lightning Sac
As mentioned, the Lightning Sac resembles another monster drop, the Thunder Sac. Both drop from the same monsters, the Lightning Wyverns,Khezu, and Tobi-Kadachi. However, the rank that they can be obtained from are different.
Thunder Sacs are rewarded by defeating a High-Rank version of either Khezu or Tobi, while Lightning Sacs are rewarded by defeating Master Rank versions. However, there is a crucial difference in earning a Lightning Sac from one of them.

While both Khezu and Tobi can reward players with a Lightning Sac, Khezu has a higher drop % chance than Tobi does. If a player slays a Khezu, they have a 21% chance of earning one as part of the mission reward; if they capture it, it grants an additional 18% chance of acquiring one. Tobi-Kadachi, on the other hand, only gives a 14% chance of earning one upon its defeat, and no extra bonus is granted if the monster is captured.
While it’s up to a matter of preference of which monster the player chooses to fight, the fastest method of acquiring a Lightning Sac would be to farm Khezu. Therefore, it’s important to discuss how to farm this monster with the most efficiency.
How To Farm Khezu
To farm a Master Rank Khezu, the best quest to do so would be the 2-Star Master Rank quest, The Alabaster Devourer. In this quest, players are tasked with hunting or capturing a Khezu at the Frost Islands. Keep in mind there will be other monsters roaming the area that might block progress.
To hunt a Khezu with ease, knowing its strengths and weaknesses will be crucial in doing so. Khezu isa Thunder Flying Wyvernwith only one weakness, the Fire element, and it has high resistance to all other elements in the game.
Khezu’s main gimmick is the ability to let out a large discharge of lightning at once, causing a large area of effect damage to the players. Before it releases this attack, it will begin to glow with energy, giving players a few seconds to back and away and avoid the attack. Otherwise, Khezu is a straightforward fight with which most Master Rank hunters shouldn’t have too much difficulty.
Players should continue to hunt a Khezu until they finally acquire its Lightning Sac.
