Ever sinceLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagawas indefinitely delayed earlier this year, fans have been patiently waiting for their next update. The game has been rather quiet, however, with the only real chunk of news since then was an off-handed comment from a dev, who commented on the’fun' and ‘misery’ of working onRise of Skywalkercontent.

Now, however, fans may have an inkling of when they will know more about the forthcoming game. Gamescom recently posted a teaser (seen below and first pointed out by Cinelinx Editor-in-Chief Jordan Maison), and it showcases a LEGO Darth Vader behind some non-descript Gamescom designs. WithLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagaappearing in ads for Gamescom, the chances of it being there are quite high.

As such,LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagafans should be sure to tune intoGamescom’s dates and timesto get the information as soon as possible. Gamescom typically has its biggest announcements during its Opening Night Live ceremony, which is currently scheduled for Wednesday, August 25th, at 11 AM PT/ 2 PM ET. However, Gamescom itself is booked through Friday, August 27th, with more, smaller announcements likely over those couple of days.

The likelihood of the upcoming entry in Traveller’s Tales’LEGO Stars Warsfranchise appearing at Gamescom Opening Night Live seems incredibly high, due to the amount of hype behind the game and the above teaser. Of course, the next big question is what fans can expect from the show and what they may learn about the game. While this is pure speculation, a new trailer would make the most sense and it might even show off new gameplay and features, but perhaps the most important announcement it could make is anewLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagarelease date.

With the event happening at the end of August, the most likely scenario seems to be a late holiday release date. It would do well if it released in November or early December this year, but it’s also possible the announcement comes with an early 2022 release date. For now, it’s impossible to tell, but for those parched fornews onLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, an end does appear to be in sight.

Marketing would only pick up after Gamescom, and with everything fromLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’s planet and moob hubsand chapter organization of all 9 episodes to plethora of characters and lined-up DLC scream ambition from the franchise. For many fans, it may be that August 25th can’t get here soon enough.
