Hunter x Hunteris an iconic manga series that has garnered fans all around the world with its lovable cast characters and its amazing story. The story has kept people wanting more despite the very long hiatuses the manga goes on, with the most recent one having lasted for around 4 years. With the current batch of chapters, Yoshihiro Togashi has given fans amazing content and this will seemingly continue until chapter 400, after which fans expect him to go on another hiatus.

The recentHunter x Hunterchapters have easily been some of the best, not only in the Succession contest arc, but in the entirety ofHunter x Hunteras well. Indeed, “The Founding'' chapters have explored some of Hunter x Hunter’s most interesting characters, the Phantom Troupe, in-depth, with extra attention being thrownon their leader, Chrollo Lucilfer.Hunter x Hunter398 will probably take the focus off of the Phantom Troupe, but the readers can at least hope to see the Spiders in the present time in the manga again.
Hunter x Hunter 398: The Spiders In The Present
The last three chapters ofHunter x Hunter, 395, 396, and 397 were all heavily focusedon the Phantom Troupeand their past in Meteor City, including the tragedy with Sarasa and how this led the Phantom Troupe to become what they are today. With that in mind, it’s possible that with the conclusion of “the Founding” chapters, the story goes back to the present and begins to tie this flashback to the members of the Phantom Troupe active in this arc right now.
As fans know, the Phantom Troupe are currently aboard the Black Whale with two goals,killing Hisoka for what he has done, and to steal the goods. The past few chapters have focused on Nobunaga, Phinks, and Feitan, and it is time that Yoshihiro Togashi brings the rest of the cast out. It’s currently unclear where the other members of the Spiders are, but it would be interesting if the readers were shown their current whereabouts and what they are up to– especially Chrollo Lucilfer. With that, Togashi could reveal that the Spiders are currently on the search for Hisoka to avenge their dead friends, Shalnark and Kortopi, especially now that their past tied to Sarasa has been revealed.
Hunter x Hunter 398: The Mafia Families Back In The Frame
The Kakin Empire has three large mafia families, the Xi-Yu, the Heil-Ly, and the Cha-R. Previous chapters have established the alliance formed between Xi-Yu and Cha-R, as well as some Troupe members, to take down Heil-ly, with Morena Prudo as its head leader. InHunter x Hunter398, since the three Phantom Troupe members, Nobunaga, Phinks, and Feitan are still in one of the secret hideouts of Heil-ly, they could come across a lead that they missed while looking around earlier. This is especially true as it was previously established that the people in the hideout didn’t leave long ago. Perhaps, there is a different entrance to the hideout that could explain how these members evaded the Spiders so quickly. Another possible focus of the chapter could be none other than Hinrigh Biganduffno, the underboss of Xi-Yu. He is always coming up with new strategies andfinding new information on Heil-ly, so with that, in the next chapter, he could make a brand new discovery.

Hunter x Hunter 398: Kurapika And Prince Tserriednich
Ever since the return of theHunter X Huntermanga, two characters Togashi hasn’t shown again yet are Kurapika and the 4th Prince, Tserriednich, two major players in the Succession contest arc. While Prince Tserriednich has appeared in a small flashback, he has yet to appear in the present time. With the Phantom Troupe’s flashback probably over, it wouldn’t be surprising if the focus was shifted from them to their deepest enemy, Kurapika.
After the death of his clan,Kurapika has caused the death of twoof the closest people to Chrollo Lucilfer, Uvo, and Pakunoda. These two seemed to get the most time with Chrollo in the flashback and, interestingly, they are the ones dead because of Kurapika. While Kurapika is currently busy protecting Prince Wobble, it would be interesting if it was now his turn to show the readers a fragment of his past. As for Prince Tserriednich, he is becoming more powerful with every passing moment, so it would be insightful to see how much more progress he has made and whether he’s going to pursue Morena for betraying him or not.
