Transferring Pokemon from Pokemon GO to Pokemon Home

The first thing that Poke-fans need to do is open up theirPokemon GOapplication on their mobile device. From the main screen,touch the Poke Ball iconat the bottom, and thenpress Settingsat the top of the menu, which has a Gear icon next to it. Scroll to the bottom to find a list of things that Pokemon GO can potentially connect with,including Poke Ball Plus, Pokemon GO Plus, and, most importantly,Pokemon Home.

After selecting thePokemon Homeoption, players mustsign into the same Nintendo accountused forPokemon Home. From there,Pokemon GOusers can send over Pokemon using the GO Transporter andGO Transporter Energy. The energy charges up over time, so players will need to be careful about sending over too many Pokemon at once. Once the accounts have been linked, there will be an option in the Settings to send Pokemon.

Pokemon sent toPokemon Homecannot be returned toPokemon GO. Also, certain Pokemon cannot be transferred to other games.

Open Pokemon Home

Now that the chosen Pokemon have been sent toPokemon Home, open the application. For the Switch version, players will see an option on the main menu to receivePokemon fromPokemon GO.

As for the mobile version, a notification should pop up telling players that Pokemon have been transferred over.

It’s worth noting that the basic (free) plan forPokemon Homeonly allows up to 30 Pokemon to be stored. Players will need to opt into the Premium Plan to carry more Pokemon.
