Horizon Forbidden Westhas been one of the year’s most anticipated games, and specifically one of the most anticipated titles toarrive on PS5 following the game’s initial revealat the PlayStation Experience event in 2020. With a new graphical update, and a sprawling open world to explore, fans had plenty to look forward to when the game finally arrived.
The sequel to the critically acclaimedHorizon Zero Dawn,Forbidden Westsees the return of outcast-turned-warrior Aloy,played by Ashly Burch, as she must venture across the titular Forbidden West to solve the mystery of why the machine animals are going feral, and in the process stop a growing conflict between two warring tribes from getting out of hand. The game sees Aloy teaming up with familiar friends and allies such as Varl and Erend, and the coming into contact again with the mysterious Sylens, played byJohn Wick’s Lance Reddick.

Since the release ofHorizon Forbidden West, fans have taken to social media to point out a handful of technical issues that have plague the game since launch, namely dealing with the game’s visual glitches. Developer Guerrilla Games has stated that the team intend toaddress these visual issues inForbidden West, among other issues noted, in a later update, and now it seems that said update has finally been added to the game.
In a post on Reddit’s r/horizon, Guerrilla announced the patch notes for the 1.06 update forHorizon Forbidden West. The team thanks the fans players for their patience while putting these changes into effect, and lists off a number of issues that the developers have both fixed and are actively working to fix as of this update.
WhileHorizon Forbidden Westalso came with a day one patchat launch, as is common with many video games released today, there were several technical oversights that fans had hoped Guerrilla Games could fix. Thus, it’s extremely welcoming to see Guerrilla Games be both so forthcoming and extremely thorough when fixing all the numerous elements aboutForbidden Westthat fans had found issues with.
So far,reviews forHorizon Forbidden Westhave declared the game an excellent successor to the first game, and now that it has been patched and optimized for a better playing experience, hopefully this gives more players the opportunity to dive into this new adventure.
