After the major success of the game, rumors of aHogwarts Legacysequelhave left some fans wondering what a second game could entail, and if these sequel rumors happen to be true, there are many different directions another game could take in order to explore deeper into the world ofHarry Potter. The franchise is packed with dense lore, and within that lore there is a treasure trove of unique and wonderful creatures permeating the wizard society.
However, some of these creatures are more frightening than beautiful, likeHogwarts Legacy’s terrifying spidersthat players can be unfortunate enough to run into. The spiders found within the game are so scary to some players that an Arachnephobia Mode was even included in the game in order to keep scares to a minimum for those who are afraid of oversized eight-legged monsters. A Hogwarts Legacy Sequel Should Include an Iconic Harry Potter Creature
When it comes to theHarry Potterfranchise as a whole, one of the most terrifying creatures in the entire overarching story is the Basilisk. At the beginning of the year when the game initially launched, there wasa supposed Basilisk sightingwithin the game, but this happened to be a glitch of the giant squid in the lake. Before it was revealed that the sighting was just a mere glitch, many fans of theHarry Potterfranchise were incredibly excited about the possibility of running into a Basilisk when it’s least expected.
Not including the Basilisk inHogwarts Legacywas truly a missed opportunity considering that it’s such an iconic creature fromHarry Potter. The spiders that are encountered in the game can definitely make one’s skin crawl, but there is something about the Basilisk that is heart-stopping. Whether it’s the massive size of the creature or just the fact that it’s a snake, it remains one of the most memorable monsters for many fans, and crossing its path in a potentialHogwarts Legacysequel would be a thrilling experience.
AlthoughHogwarts Legacywas a fun exploration of a different timeframe than the well known narrative in the franchise, there were greatthings fromHarry Potterthat were missingfrom the game that would have been exciting to see. The game is incredibly faithful toHarry Potter’s overall lore, but not including things like Quidditich or some of the notable creatures from the books and movies, like the aforementioned Basilisk, could be seen as a missed opportunity by many fans who were hoping to see more references to the material they’ve grown up with. Still, there is the possibility that this could have been the plan all along, and maybe these aspects were left out of the first game on purpose to give a potential sequel even more depth.
When it comes tothe future ofHogwarts Legacy, there is currently only room for speculation. However, if the rumors about a sequel are true, it could give the second game ample opportunity to include some great references to the franchise that many fans will appreciate. Getting to confront the Basilisk face to face would be a bone chilling encounter, but it would also likely be the highlight of a possible sequel. For many fans who grew up withHarry Potter, the introduction of the Basilisk was a jaw-dropping moment, and it would be incredible for players to get the opportunity to battle it themselves.
