IO Interactive revealed the September 2022 roadmap forHitman 3earlier this week. The next majorHitman 3update will introduce additional Elusive Targets, a couple more disguises, and new batch of Featured Contracts, among other things.
Hitman 3has been receiving regular monthly updates ever since its release in early 2021, same as the first two entries inIO Interactive’sWorld of Assassinationtrilogy,HitmanandHitman 2. Apart from new items and in-game challenges, each month also sees the Danish developer refresh its free playable map offer. This time around, that free map is Hokkaido from the 2016Hitman, which will be fully playable during a ten-day period starting next Thursday, September 8th.

Players can already access a couple new Elusive Target Arcades which pit them against two trios of targets, both of which include an extra layer of challenge on top of the pressure stemming from theone-attempt nature of thisHitman 3mode. Going after The Collector, The Stowaway, and The Paparazzo is hence complicated by the fact players are limited to a single disguise change, whereas the Illusory Elusive Target Arcade limits the number of pacifications in the run, thus requiring a riskier playing style. Completing either of these time-limited challenges will unlock The Neon Ninja Suit, a new disguise which wouldn’t feel out of place inBlade Runner.
Next up is The Rage, anotherHitman 3Elusive Target which will be found in Chongqing from September 9th through 19th. Two new targets, The Bombastic and The Blusterousand, are unlocking on September 15th, and completing either will be rewarded with a Lucky Ducky Suit. The final two Elusive Target missions for this month will takeHitman 3players to Hokkaido and the Isle of Sgail, where they’ll be tasked with eliminating a pair of surgeons and a journalist who doubles as a serial killer, respectively.
Starting September 29, IO will also be refreshing the game’s Featured Contracts section with a “Visit Ambrose” theme. The developer said that the custom missions won’t necessarily have to feature the actual Ambrose map—which was recently at the center ofa pirate-themedHitman 3update—provided that their briefings are creative enough. Submissions for this batch are open on the game’s official forums until Monday, September 5th.
Based on IO Interactive’s track record,Hitman 3has now entered the final months of its official support period. The previous two games from theWorld of Assassinationtrilogy were both supported with monthly content updates for two years post-release. And seeing howIO’s mysterious Project 007is already in production,Hitman 3development is likely to end come early next year.
Hitman 3is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
