Johan Pilestedt, Chief Creative Officer at Arrowhead, explains that the primary goal is to enhance the utility of weaker stratagems and diversify player loadouts. The A/MLS-4X Rocket Sentry now has better consistency against medium and larger enemies, while the A/MG-43 Machine Gun Sentry has a reduced cooldown to enhance mobility.
Additionally, the durability of all sentry turrets has been increased to withstand small arms fire. The E/MG-101 HMG Emplacement has a faster rotation speed, and minefields have received a damage boost to improve their effectiveness. Changes to orbital strikes andHelldivers 2Eagle weaponshave been made to increase their consistency and competitiveness. Several weapons have been rebalanced to align with their intended roles. The GL-21 Grenade Launcher, MG-206 Heavy Machine Gun, and MG-43 Machine Gun received buffs to improve their effectiveness against medium-armored enemies.
One important feature of this patch is the introduction of visible supply lines and attack origins in the Galactic War, providing players with a clearer strategic overview. Additionally, the update brings various crash fixes, stability improvements, and the ability to create invite-only lobbies, with localized options in English for now and more languages to be added soon. In addition, severalHelldivers 2orbital stratagem issueshave been adjusted for better performance. The Orbital Gatling now fires faster, with more rounds per salvo and increased armor penetration, while its cooldown has been decreased to 70 seconds.
Other significant updates include the removal of the operation modifier AA-Defenses, changes to mission availability, and the introduction of super samples on difficulty 6, making them more accessible without forcing players into higher difficulty levels. Moreover, environmental and enemy updates add further depth to the gameplay. Fire tornadoes now move more randomly and reduce enemy vision, while tremors and acid effects have been adjusted to create more varied and less punishing scenarios. With these changes,Helldivers 2aims to offer a more balanced and engaging experience, allowing players to explore new strategies and loadouts.
