Hearthstoneis looking for passionate, consistent, and kind members with active communities on Discord, Twitter, or other social media platforms. The special site for the new program outlined guidelinesHearthstoneis seeking for its prospective applicants depending on the platform, though it encouraged content creators to apply even if they didn’t meet all the criteria. The list of criteria can be found below.
This new program was announced shortly afterHearthstoneunveiled its diminished esports schedule for 2023. With the prize pool for this year about a fifth of last year’s total, many fans were remiss to seeHearthstoneesports dying. However, this new Creator Program may allowHearthstoneto help foster community growth even as its esports program shrinks.
Many fans have already signed up for the newHearthstoneCreator Program. The new system seems like a great way to elevate mid-range content creators into the spotlight.Blizzard has been working closely with its content creators more often, soHearthstoneplayers are eager to have a clear pathway to creating a partnership with the game.
That said, someplayers are not happy withHearthstone, and think it needs to reevaluate its criteria for new applicants. While the Creator Program seems pretty awesome, 5000 followers and 200 CCV is not an easy milestone to reach. Many believe content creators who already have this much attention hardly need help finding more success and thinkHearthstoneshould provide help for minor creators as well.
Hearthstonewill be holding a live stream Q&A session with The Angry Chicken podcast on February 1, so players who have questions about the new program should be sure to tune in. In the meantime, the application for theHearthstoneCreator Program is available now.
Hearthstoneis available now for Mobile and PC.
