TheHalocommunity has been pretty divided about a lot of the content inHaloInfinite. Some believe that its battle pass system progression and expensive cosmetic store are just a part of doing business in the current age of free-to-play multiplayer shooters, however, others are far less willing to forgive 343 Industries for its perceived missteps when it comes to cosmetic unlocks and pricing.

A quick look through the sub-Reddit or a scroll through the comments proves that u/boxops isn’t alone in thinking that prices are too high. One commenter posited that they would have gladly paid full price forHalo’s multiplayerif it meant that the game could avoid the high-priced cosmetics and return to a more traditional unlock system.

While 343 Industries has been quick to address a lot of fan criticism forHalo Infinitesuch asadding devoted Slayer playlistsand fixing battle pass progression, the studio hasn’t said much in regards to changes that might be coming to the store. When looking at other free-to-play shooters,Halo Inifnite’s pricing isn’t too far off, however, as this sort of practice is new to theHaloseries, fans are less than thrilled. Based on the studio’s silence about the issue and fact that its prices are in line with the rest of the industry, many fans don’t expect 343 Industries to change much about its digital storefront.

While criticism of the game has been running rampant since its release, some members of theHalo Infinitecommunity haven’t been the most respectful to the game’s developers or to those who’ve expressed positive feelings towards it on theHalosub-Reddit. Recently, the sub-Reddit had to go on temporary lockdown due to an influx oftoxic behavior fromHalofans. 343 Industries has spoken out about accepting criticism but doesn’t accept toxicity as a valid form of critique.

Hopefully, a middle ground can be reached betweenHalo’s communityand its studio, however, there doesn’t seem to be much to suggest that a compromise is coming in terms of cosmetic prices. It seems likeHalofans will need to settle for the countless other changes that the studio has made to the game post-launch instead.
