Despite early problems with overpriced microtransactions for armor,Halo Infinitehas managed to keep fans and critics mostly entertained. Acclaimed horror film director John Carpenter recently claimed thatHalo Infinitewas the best in the franchise. Whether that is true or not is entirely down to personal opinion, yet the multiplayer portion of the game is still causing some fans frustrations.
Halo Infinite’smultiplayer did not get off to the best of starts during its beta period due to limited playlists, a slow battle pass leveling system, and more. Fans even threatened to boycott the game over the price of armor sets, which saw players being charged$8 for the color blue inHalo Infinite’sonline store. While changes to the store are being put in place by developer 343, fans are still finding issues within the game. One video shows one of the frustrating glitches that occurs withinHalo Infinite, where grenades will not explode after a player’s death.

The short clip, which was posted to Reddit, shows a player inHalo Infiniterounding a corner to see the enemy holding the Oddball. In a frantic melee, the players shoot and throw grenades at each other, with the enemy coming out on top. The player though, believes they should be getting the last laugh as they have stuck a plasma grenade to the enemy’s leg, only for it to never go off. As the player detailed, this moment was not only frustrating because the kill wasn’t secured, but the entire ranked match was lost largely due to this one moment.
In the comments, otherHalo Infiniteplayers shared in their frustration, and said they had experienced similar problems when in any game mode inHalo Infinite, not just Oddball. Oddball, the game mode where players must carry a flaming skull for a certain amount of time to win, has seen glitches before though, such as one that allowed the skull carrier to punch other players into orbit. Besides the grenade glitch though, something else players are having problems with is a game-widedesync glitch occurring inHalo Infinite’smultiplayer.
With glitches that can ruin a match inHalo Infinite’s multiplayer, manyHalofans are reminiscing about older titles, especially following the server shut down that meantplayers could no longer hop onto a match ofHalo 3, Halo: Reach, and other older games on their Xbox 360. While January 13th, the day of the shut-down, was a heartbreaking day for manyHalofans, many were able to join together for one last match, where their plasma grenades would go off no matter if they were dead or alive.
Halo Infiniteis available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
