Halo Infinitehas been a major topic of discussion online for the past 2 weeks, for both right and wrong reasons. While it officially does not launch until December 8, the multiplayer beta forHalo Infinitewas released on November 15, immediately after a live streamcelebrating 20 years of Xbox.
The gameplay has been met with almost universal praise, but fans have questioned the current nature of theBattle Pass forHalo Infinite. Some have complained about the time-consuming grind necessary to earn cosmetics as well as the affects of gameplay specific challenges on the overall flow of a match, while others feel that in-game items are way too expensive. Despite these issues, the campaign ofHalo Infiniteseems to be generating a lot of positive buzz.

343 Industries has just released a new trailer that aims to set up the story ofHalo Infinite, showing Master Chief facing off against The Banished, who serve as the primary antagonists of the game. Chief is seen using a wide variety of weapons as well as vehicles to take on the enemy forces, and the video seems to tease a 1v1 fight against Escharum, a legendary Brute War Chief. The new AI, named “The Weapon”, was also prominently featured throughout the video.
The story takes place on Zeta Halo as Master Chief aims to find Cortana, his former AI partner. The trailer mentions thatHalo Infinitewill be the biggest game to date, and the blurb promises to deliver the most open and adventure-filledHaloexperience yet.
New gameplay footage from the campaign was released last month which showcasedMaster Chief utilizing all of the new gadgets, like the Grappleshot, that have been added toHalo Infinite. As with all open world games, players will be tasked with liberating outposts captured by The Banished.Halo Infinitealso includes side missions, and it does seem like 343 Industries is giving players more freedom than ever before by making changes to the design blueprint of aHalocampaign.
With the launch ofHalo Infinitejust 1 week away, spoilers for the campaign have started to appear online. In addition, a new rumor earlier last month had suggested thatHalo Infinitewill have multiple campaigns. While the 10-year plan forHalo Infinitemost probably refers to the multiplayer component, it would not be a surprise to see 343 Industries release campaign expansions that build upon the story introduced inInfinite.
Halo Infinitemultiplayer beta is available now, with an official release set for December 8 oc PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
