Goblin attack is nothing new in theGoblin Slayerworld, as many small villages have been attacked and destroyed by goblins, with women and young children as the primary targets for these monsters. Years ago, the adventurer viewers know as the Goblin Slayer had his village attacked by goblins, which led to the death of his parents and beloved sister.
Years later, he becomes the Goblin Slayer dedicated to eradicating goblins from his world. Although he is quite skilled when it comes to killing goblins, he is not exactly the strongest adventurer in the guild or thisGoblin Slayerworld. Additionally, the Goblin Slayer has some weaknesses that viewers may overlook but sometimes appear when he is in battle against goblins or other opponents.

7He Is Solely Focused On Goblins
Anything that does not involve goblins, the goblin slayer is out and not interested. Thisfocus on only goblinsis good and bad because someone has to get rid of them, and the inexperienced adventurers have no chance against the goblins because they end up getting killed most of the time.
But with the Goblin Slayer focusing so much on killingthese goblins, he forgets about the other threats like demons, dragons, sewer rats, and much more, but thankfully, there are other adventurers for that. In addition, this single-minded focus on goblins makes him go away for days in search of just goblins.
6Lack Of Social Skills
No man is an island, and although the Goblin Slayer has been able to kill goblins on his own successfully, he progressively becomes much better when he finds himself with a party. Even before he joined a party, he never interacted or talked to the other adventurers in the guild.
He adjusts when Priestess begins to tag along with him, but sometimes, he tells her to stay back and not discuss his move with her but inform her in an emotionless way. Over time, he gets used to her presence, making it easier for Dwarf Shaman, Lizardman, and High Elf Archer to join them.
5He Is Human
Regardless of his shield thatmakes him look indestructible, the Goblin Slayer underneath all the armor is human, and it feels like he forgets that sometimes. He has physical limitations but always goes beyond them, and this leaves him weak and severely injured.
After the encounter at the ruins, the Goblin Slayer was left in a pretty bad state that he slept for three days straight. Even under the sewers at the Water Town, he injures himself so severely that the Priestess had to perform a healing spell on him; this spell requires him to sleep beside a virgin in order to be fully healed from his injuries.
4Housing Cheap Weapons
Unlike the rest of the adventurers, Goblin Slayer is not particularly known for carrying a primary weapon. He does not spend money on expensive andflashy weapons, but instead, he opts for short swords he gets from goblins. Since goblins are always in a cave, there is no need for the long and expensive swords since they would be ineffective there. He rarely ever cleans his metal armor and his weapons because the smell of metal will alert the goblins, and this takes away his element of surprise when attacking them.

3He Is Inexperienced With Other Creatures
Other adventurers believe the Goblin Slayer does not deserve his silver tag because he only fights goblins and ignores other strong creatures likedemons and dragons. This lack of experience comes into play when he faces the ogre in the ruins, the giant eye in the sewer, and even the goblin attack on the farm, but with the help of his party members, he is able to defeat them.
It just proves thatthe Goblin Slayer may only be strong when it comes to killing and setting traps for goblinsin a cave. He even acknowledges this weakness when he goes to the adventurer’s guild for help after seeing goblins' tracks at the farm.
2Untreated Childhood Trauma
The Goblin Slayer’s trauma cannot go unnoticed as he still suffers greatly from seeing his family killed by goblins. This trauma is the reason he does not interact with others and is usually on his own. It is possible that he fears getting close to people in order to protect himself and his emotions when they leave, either by choice or due to unfortunate circumstances. In addition, before his family was killed, his best friend left him by going to the city, and they got into a big fight because of that.

1Lack Of Magical Powers
Although he has been able to kill goblins without havingmagical powers, having them would have made his work much easier and faster. In this world where most races have magical powers, the Goblin Slayer has been able to achieve so much with his physical abilities. However, not having magical powers puts him at a disadvantage when he comes across goblin shamans, ogres, or other creatures with magical abilities.
Fortunately for him, he finds himself in a party of adventurers where most members have magical abilities like Priestess, Dwarf Shaman, and Lizardman. He has been able to direct their magical powers to good use and get out of tricky situations.
