Ghost of Tsushimahas been setting records since its release earlier this month, including thefastest-selling first-party original IP debut on PS4. And there are some incredible in-game stats to go with all those sales too.
Ghost of Tsushimaplayers have pet an astounding 8.8 million foxes, and that isn’t the only unbelievable stat that players have reached. According to the official PlayStation Twitter account, in just 10 days players spent 810 whole years on horseback, fought in 57.5 million duels, and taken 15.5 million photos with thepopularGhost of Tsushimaphoto mode. Players have even spent several lifetimes just riding around the countryside on their trusty steed.

But that’s not all. The tweet also mentions that players have had 156.4 million standoffs, played the flute 28.1 million times, soaked 16.2 times in an onsen, 17.1 million bamboo strikes completed, 14.2 millionhaikus written, honored 37.5 inari shrines, and fought so bravely that 139.4 million enemies collapsed in fear. And that’s just in the first 10 days afterGhost of Tsushima’s release.
Ghost of Tsushimasold out almost immediately in Japanupon its release, with its beautiful graphics, intense story, and interesting mechanics making it fly off of the shelves. Fans loved that Jin, the main character, could interact with the wildlife too, following birds and petting foxes at their dens. And so far in-game, players have pet an unbelievable amount of these fuzzy friends, so Sucker Punch’s design choices were clearly in the right spot.
This has proven that there isa lot to love in theGhosts of Tsushimafor the fans. Between the extraordinary way that players can interact with the world around them to the incredible detail put into the environment, gamers all over the world really seem to be immersed in this ancient Japanese setting.
Although many in the gaming industry have said that single-player games without multiplayer online modes are dead,Ghost of Tsushimaand the devs at Sucker Punch have proved that wrong once again. It looks like players are still willing to play games by themselves, so long as there are birds to follow, foxes to pet, and duels to be fought.
